Q. If am working, why do I need In-service training for CNA CEUs?
The law states that you have to complete 12 hours of in-services a year (see CNA mandatory classes).
Q. I haven't worked as a CNA this year!
If you want to renew your CNA license, then you still have to complete your CNA in-service hours.
Q. How do I know what hours I still need to take?
You have to have completed CNA certificates, that show the name of the CNA courses, the date and the hours of in-service training.
Q. What if my jobs will not give me the in-services CNA course certificates?
It is the CNA's responsibility to get their in-service completed and CNA certification.
Q. Isn't it my job's responsibility to give me the in-services?
NO, see above answer!
Q. I am just going to renew without doing my CNA CEU hours!
It is against the law and it is fraud if you renew your CNA license without doing your CNA Continuing Education hours or in-service CEU training. And if you get caught, the Florida nursing porfession licensing board will impose a fine and suspend your CNA license and you will not be able to work.
